Reasons for the PayComm Association

PayComm e.V. was founded on February 19, 2003.

Founded by ACI Worldwide GmbH, Concardis GmbH, Deutsche Postbank AG, Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, Thales e-Transactions GmbH and WestLB AG, the community had set its scope to create an up-to-date user friendly payment knowledge database and to grow the community by welcoming new members to join the PayComm community.

Both objectives have been successfully achieved. The database currently contains 800 chapters in German and English with a total of over 10.000 individual documents covering Issuing, Acquiring, eCommerce, Payment Technology, Security, Rules, SEPA and comprehensive information on Europe. Since the founding days a number of highly payment focused companies have joined this payment community, adding to the knowledge and totality of the information available today. With now 45 member companies both German and international and about 1.800 community member employees in 17 European countries actively using the knowledge database on a day-to-day basis, it is likely the most valuable used research tool for payment, schemes, technologies, and knowledge in Europe.

The Mission: Payment knowledge at the click of a mouse!

The clearly stated mission of the PayComm community is to provide in-depth knowledge of card driven schemes and technologies whilst providing the necessary transparency to help the members of the community base their decisions on.

Manfred Krüger, former Managing Director of Concardis GmbH stated: “ By now the card business has become more and more specialized. Therefore it gets harder to find staff members with the necessary special know-how or to train the proper staff. Therefore there is a high demand for a neutral database, used by staff members of the different payment companies to extend their know-how, to keep it up-do-date and to train new people in the field of electronic payment systems.”

Consequently, PayComm also provides, in addition to the elaborate information available, other related information which is easily and quickly accessible; such as special payment topics, current statistics, and market data which is all presented neutrally and is quality assured.

All this knowledge and information is made available at a single location and can be easily accessed through direct or fuzzy search algorithms. Searches in the world wide web has be obsolete for the members of the PayComm community.

Thanks to the diversity and multitude of the members it is guaranteed that a wide variety of payment related topics are being covered.

Following you find a list of information which has recently been put into the database. This information is for members only.
